Ten (times 3) Haiku Motif on Nature Speak ©

There’s one thing I know

You stupid humans think that

All turns around you

You think the sun shines

Only for your benefit

Man you are so wrong

Can we live only

If we fit your selfish needs

Woe to us if not

You can alter us

And then enslave all of us

But your time will come

Waters are nature

The oceans and the rivers

The lakes and the seas

Nature’s the surface

The sand, the mud, and the rocks

Take us for granted

Green plants are nature

The trees, the grains, and the fruits

We breathe and we grow

Creepers are nature

The crawlers, the hoppers, and

Flyers, insects all

We’re the animals

On the land and in the sea

We’re wild but not free

If we’re in your way

You will destroy all of us

Without thinking twice

Change your thinking now

Be humble and walk with us

It is not too late

We gave you a taste

We showed you a different choice

We know you saw it

Covid brought you down

For a while your thinking changed

You were scared weren’t you!

Humans were dying

You saw the devastation

Something had to change

Offices closed up

Restaurants and hotels did too

Socializing ceased

You began to see

That actions could be taken

New ways to behave

With no place to go

You stopped driving and flying

Traffic jams cleared up

All of the sudden

The smog started to vanish

You thought this was good

As the air improved

Many of you realized

Actions were profound

We ask you humans

To remember your effect

Act responsibly

Earthbound nature is

A complex ecosystem

Joined and dependent

Nature speaks as one

Neither man nor animals

Nor plants are alone

Air only sustains

Life if life sustains the air

A fragile balance

Nature says take heed

My resources have limits

Be very careful

You must be afraid

As my species go extinct

You man also lose

Earth’s ecosystem

Warns, heed my signs, take right steps

Stop your pollution

Strip my resources

At your peril!  Remember

Work with me or die

There is no such thing

As energy without cost

Pay now or later

I have nurtured you

I do not want to lose you

My prayers are for you

Be responsible

Make good decisions, WAKE UP!

Use your time wisely
