About Me

I believe that my interest in creative writing began with the one and only family reunion that my siblings and I had when I was about to turn 50. I told them that I had come to the realization that after three marriages, one ending in my becoming a widower and the others ending in divorce, that the fact was that, even though I wished the opposite, I was likely to never become a father and that weighed heavily on me.

I lamented that I would never be able to pass on my kooky ways of thinking and working to my children and through them, the world.

I did not expect to ever get married again(1) so that, in an effort to share what some have described as “Dave’s Way”, that I would use creative writing to share my out of the box, odd-ball ideas.

I told my siblings that the world was being run by people with narrow, short-sighted minds and I not only had better ideas, but also the ability to express my thoughts in writing. I wanted to do just that and I have.

Now, twenty-seven years later I still believe most decision makers are screwed up and they are doing their best to screw up the world. And what for, their own political/wealth/power gain? They refuse to consider the price that even the best of them are paying and will continue to pay unless … well unless they suddenly lead us on truly sustainable paths.

I have better ideas and I endeavor to bring these forward through my writing. I also firmly believe that I am not alone. I value your ideas/beliefs/commitments. A fundamental tenet that I hold is that if you disagree with me, you are not incorrect. You are, in fact correct and it is my duty to embrace your thinking and your contributions.

In this spirit, I offer you my words and my soul.

  1. Turns out that I was incorrect about never getting married again. I just celebrated 25 years happily with Laurie.
