Haiku Motif

Haiku is short form poetry that originated in Japan and follows specific rules for both form and content. The form is three phrases that respectively have 5, 7, 5 syllables. Usually the three phrases are each a separate line. The content has traditionally been that a Haiku subject be either seasons or nature.

I strive in my Haiku to follow the guidelines for syllables and lines, but my subjects vary widely and although I try to express a message in each Haiku, it is often the case that to discern my themes, it is necessary to read a complete set.

BTW: The plural of Haiku is Haiku.
